St. Patrick's Day Festival, Dublin, Ireland

St. Patrick's Day

This was the first time I got to go to the Dublin Parade for St. Patrick's Day. I've always just gone to the local one here in Co. Longford.
But I haven't actually gone to a St. Paddy's Parade in some years now because the local one tends to get a bit repetitive and isn't very exciting or thrilling at all.

I entered a competition on Pix.ie to get the change to go to the Parade in Dublin, get into a special area and photograph the Parade!!!

And I got it!!! So I traveled up to Dublin with my sister got my place in the special area for the photographers and started snapping!!! It was a wonderful day, really sunny but not to hot or too cold!!! And the people all around really enjoyed it too, which made it all the better!!!

Here are some of the best shots I got. All the photos can be viewed here on my flickr, my DeviantArt page and of course my Pix.ie page.

The Parade

Some Crazy Irish Dancers!!! Don't ask me what they where doing!!! :D

After their "performance" she happily posed for me :D

Some of the parade bands.

Birds and Butterflies, I'm not sure what they represented but they were amazing looking, wonderful costumes and colours.

Peacock: The most amazing looking costume of the Parade.

Some Parade Portraits.

Some shots of the Parade crowd.

And just some random ones to end!!! Hope you enjoyed!!! :D

Last but not least

Jim Larkin seemed to really enjoy himself!!! Hehe!!!

Please remember these are not all the photos I took. They can be all view here on my flickr, my DeviantArt page and my Pix.ie page.

Thanks for looking and be sure to leave a comment or two letting me know what you think!!!

The birds and butterflies...
I think they were a group from the Shawbrook School for Ballet just outside Legan.
